Dance in the Shadows

So I haven't put the lyrics with this one yet as I haven't found the right pictures to go with it.  But don't worry I am working on it all the same I wanted to share the song with you invisible people as it is one I wrote a long time ago and I truly believe in it.

This is called "Shadow Dancer" as you can probably guess from the blog title this is an idea I feel strongly about.  I think everybody should spend a little time in the shadows so they appreciate the light.  However, people also need to take responsibility for creating their own light.

I have been guilty in the past for hiding away and watching other people shine and as much as I enjoy the safety of the dark it gets a little lonely.

"So come dance in the shadows with me!"

So here it is, song two.  I couldn't decide what to call it, eventually I settled on "You".  It's not really aimed at anyone specific but of all those things that I have wanted to say to various people.  I think we all have moments in our lives where we walk away from someone and later on we think of all the things we wished we'd said to them.  Well this is my song that says those things.

I have a huge "thank you" to make for this video.  Natalie Rendall posted a really beautiful picture on her blog (http://itsoonbecameanobsession.wordpress.com/) of Aberdeen Beach.  With it she writes about how that beach provided inspiration and I myself know the calming properties of the boats, the water and the wind.  I sat and stared out at the sea for hours, thinking, writing, reading, running and preparing myself for numerous conversations it only seemed appropriate that this picture went with the song.

Remember invisible people, music and lyrics is copyrighted so no stealing!!!

"Lifelines" by Georgia Leigh James.

OMG! That's it, my first song released out of the shadows. :)

To all the invisible people out there reading this (ha, ha!) this song is copyrighted.

Copyright right now?

I used to love trains and just like every other Saturday morning I caught the train and headed to the city.
As I was sitting on the train I decided to copy up all my songs and get them ready to be copyrighted.  I sat there writing away and there was no heating so my hand starts shaking.  Eventually I copy two of them and parcel them up then get off the train and go to Starbucks where I promptly spill my caramel latte on the next song.  Then as I travel back on the train  multitude of football supporters keep knocking my arm as I try to write.  So I gave up until I got home.  Long story short I have written them and posted them all so that's that! Hopefully my next post will contain some of my songs.  P.S  if you invisible people were on that train I am very sorry no offence meant!  X-X

New Years Resolutions

So after about five years of making the same resolution I have finally decided that 2012 is the year that I am going to release my songs to the world.
It's not like I am expecting to turn into the next Dianne Warren or Linda Perry but I feel like the songs I have written in the last few months deserve to have a voice of their own.
So that's what this blog is about:  Taking my songs out of the shadows and letting them have (even if it is brief) a few moments in the spotlight.
